Next Generation Optical Array Probes (OAPs)

Cloud particle measurements

This instrument will replace the four optical array probes (OAPs) currently used on the aircraft and will be capable of collecting greater quantities of higher-resolution cloud particle data within the footprint of a single OAP. Its capabilities will be vital to weather and climate research programmes.
